Shortly after surrendering to the call for full-time ministry, Dan traveled on his first of many mission opportunities to Central America. During the last 40 years he has traveled to 20 different countries preaching the Gospel of Christ. After seeing the need to connect churches with mission partners, the Ministry Directors in 2000 created the Center for Strategic Missions. Our commitment is to be the facilitator for church-to-church partnerships.
Internationally, evangelism has been and remains the focal point of our work. In the last 25 years, we have developed partnerships with local churches in the cities where we conduct evangelism outreach efforts and also perform service ministry. Recently, we instituted the 3D Strategy for Spiritual Growth - Discover, Develop and Deploy - with our partnering churches to help facilitate a true disciple-making model.
Currently we have partnerships in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, with Thomas Montoya at Jerusalem Baptist Church - San Pedro Sula and the National Baptist Convention of Honduras in Tegucigalpa. In keeping with our commitment of "training a leader ... will change a nation" philosophy, we have developed partnerships with several universities in Honduras—for next-generation leadership development.
Our newest partnership is with Cambui Baptist Church in Campinas, Brazil. Our work consist of evangelism in partnership with local churches throughout the country. Also, we annually lead a pastors / leadership conference to equip, encourage and train young pastors.
In Indonesia, we have a renewed partnership with Dr. John Serworwora, President of Jakarta Baptist Theological Seminary - Jakarta, Indonesia. With this opportunity, we will be teaching and training pastors, conducting church-wide crusades and leading a medical mission groups each year.
Also, in Italy we are currently working with an ongoing relationship with the International Mission Board of Southern Baptist Convention (IMB) and Rome Baptist Church. And in Ireland we have new opportunities with the IMB and with Dublin Christian Mission - Dublin, Ireland.
