Dan Moran entered full-time ministry after more than a decade in the business world, responding to God’s clear calling on his life. Since 1985, he has served as the founder and president of Dan Moran Ministries, faithfully investing in people and churches through a variety of ministry opportunities. His work today is primarily expressed through Strategic Missions, Transitional Pastoral Leadership, and Chaplain Services, each reflecting his deep commitment to helping others encounter Christ in meaningful ways.
Over the years, Dan has had the privilege of speaking at conferences, conventions, and church renewal gatherings across the United States and internationally. Known for his engaging and relatable style, he often incorporates humor to connect with his audience while remaining grounded in clear, relevant biblical teaching. As he frequently shares, “while humor may open the door, it is the truth of Scripture that transforms lives.” Since 1983, his “Choices” message has reached more than 900,000 students and adults through school assemblies, churches, and corporate settings.
Dan has also served in key leadership roles, including Associate Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of North Alabama and President of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists of Alabama. These experiences have further shaped his heart for ministry and strengthened his ability to serve both individuals and organizations effectively.
In 2005, Dan began focusing more intentionally on serving churches in times of transition. He is certified as an Intentional Interim through the Center for Congregational Health and as a Transitional Pastor through the Southern Baptist Convention. Since then, he has walked alongside numerous congregations in Alabama and Georgia, helping them navigate seasons of change with clarity, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose. He considers this work a significant and meaningful part of his ongoing calling.
At the heart of all he does is a desire to meet people where they are and guide them toward a growing relationship with Christ.
Dan and his wife, Debbie, have been married for over 45 years. They have one son, Seth, and a daughter-in-law, Taylor. Their family has been richly blessed with two granddaughters, Millie (born in 2020) and Margo (born in 2022), who bring them great joy.
